Performed by experienced piercers and jewellery stylists, each appointment focuses on anatomy- led placement and personalised styling.
Every piercing is performed using single use needles, implant-grade titanium or solid 14kt gold jewellery.
Piercing Placements
Every ear is different.
Each placement is guided by your anatomy, taking into account spacing, existing piercings, and the ear composition as whole.
Our piercers consider both jewellery and healing from the start, ensuring each placement sits correctly and wears well over time. You will be guided through suitable jewellery options and aftercare. Our care doesn’t stop when the needle does, every piercing is supported beyond the appointment with a comprehensive aftercare routine and complimentary check up appointments.

We’ll curate a selection of stunning pieces that work perfectly with your existing piercings- no new piercings, just beautifully styled jewellery.
MISC.

We usually pierce you with a longer bar to accommodate for the swelling in the first 4-12 weeks. Once the swelling goes down, you may notice your hair, clothes ect start snagging on the longer bar. It’s important to downsize (shorten the length of your jewellery) to avoid irritation, migration, and flare ups.

This is a 15min appointment to help you change over a piece of jewellery you may not be able to do yourself. If you need a longer appointment please contact us.

Aftercare
Healing is part of the process.
At Alter Ego, aftercare is treated as part of the service, not an afterthought. Every piercing is performed with healing in mind, and you will be guided through exactly how to care for it to ensure a smooth, uncomplicated recovery.
We focus on clear, professional advice backed by modern practice — no guesswork, no trends, just whats actually proven to work.
For ongoing support, we recommend a check-up appointment to assess healing and downsize your jewellery for optimal healing and longevity.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes! We do operate appointment only so we can ensure we have enough time for each appointment and are not rushed. We try and accommodate walk-ins where we can, but tr give us a heads up either by email, call, or preferably an insta message (@alteregostudios_).

Everyone is required to bring government-issued ID to their appointment to be uploaded to your consent form. We will not pierce you without ID.

Depends on the piercing.
For most piercings you need to be 16+ with parental or guardian consent if you are under 18. This includes bringing your guardian with you to the appointment where they will provide their government-issued ID and a separate form of ID to prove relationship (usually a Medicare card or birth certificate), this will be attached to your consent form. If your guardian or parent is unable to come with you to the appointment (e.g. if they reside elsewhere) shoot me a message and we can discuss your options.
Lobe piercings are 5+ with parental/guardians’ consent.
Nipple and tongue piercings are strictly 18+, no exceptions.

We stock purely implant-grade titanium and 14kt solid gold (in yellow, white, and rose gold tones). We only stock materials that are biocompatible and hypoallergenic as your healing and safety is our top priority. This material is ideal if you have sensitive skin too. All our jewellery is either internally threaded or threadless.

Yes, the price of the piercing includes standard implant grade titanium jewellery. This looks like a siilver coloured bead on the front of the jewellery. Any titanium gem upgrades start at an extra $40 each, and solid gold upgrades start at an extra $180 each.

No, all jewellery purchased both in the studio and online is strictly non- refundable and not able to be exchanged due to hygiene reasons. If you’re unsure of sizing when purchasing online, please send us a message.

To confirm your appointment, you will be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit of $50 that will be deducted off the final price of the appointment. In the event you are not prepared for your appointment (late/no-show/incorrect ID) you will forfeit your deposit. We require 24 hours notice for rescheduling and cancellations. Late notice rescheduling will result in a forfeiting of your deposit— however, we will try our best to accommodate alterations. In the event you cancel in advance and outside of the 24 hour notice period, please email us to reimburse our deposit. All deposit refunds need to be processed manually.
